Archaeological sites of Macedonia 1 (the colonies)

This is a composite course as it studies the historical data of the colonisation of the coasts of North Aegean with various material remains, depending on the era.

In most cases, these cities are incorporated in the Macedonian kingdom although sometimes atypical relations are noticed. For example the politics of Philip II causes great turmoil to these regions but at the same time they offer to Macedonians great opportunities for economic growth and extroversion. The study of the above offers the students the opportunity to comprehend the historical phenomena with the aid of archaeological remains.
