The Hellenistic Kingdoms

The Hellenistic Kingdoms are the branches of the Macedonian kingdom and they emerged directly or indirectly from Alexander the Great, after conquering East, and were established as the leading kingdoms of the Greek world until forming part of the Roman Empire.

The course aims to introduce students to the procedures of transformation and adaptation of the Macedonian economic, social and political institutions to the specific local conditions and to the new world that was formed after the blending of Greek and local elements especially in the fields of religion and art.
