            <description><![CDATA[<p>“The School of Humanities and Dr. Evi Mpaniotopoulou visited the exhibition "The Twilight of the Orient", at the Cultural Center of MIET. The students had the opportunity to scrutinise a rare collection of postcards, describing the history of Thessaloniki from 1912 and beyond, guided by the Director of MIET, Mr Ioannis Epaminondas.”</p>

            <description><![CDATA[<p style="text-align: justify;">The students of Immigration and Minorities in South East Europe, IHU 2012 undertook a research project concerning the cultures of food between two different immigrant communities in Thessaloniki. Food was examined as a vehicle of expression of identities and cultures. The students made an ethnographic research, based on in-depth interviews, participant observation and visual methods (photography and history) in two different restaurants of the city: one Georgian and one Spanish.             <title>Pottery workshop</title>

            <description><![CDATA[<p style="text-align: justify;">Dr. Manoledakis and the students of the "Ancient &amp; Byzantine art in the Black Sea" course visited the ceramic artist Ms Christine Lansdale Willis at her pottery atelier at Vassilika. The students familiarized themselves with the pottery process and tried their hand at making their own artworks.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">On Thursday, May 17th, the School of Humanities organized an event occasioned by the Genocide of the Greeks of Pontos Memorial Day, May 19th, 2012. The event started with the opening remarks of Prof. Nicolas Moussiopoulos, Deputy Chairman of the Governing Board and was followed by a brief presentation of the master programme “MA in Black Sea Cultural Studies” by the Lecturer of Archaeology, Dr. Manolis Manoledakis.</p>
