Magdalini Anastasiou

Magdalini Anastasiou Anastasiou Magdalini began her studies at the Department of History and Archaeology at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. After taking her BA with Major in Archaeology in 1999, she began new studies at the Department of Physics of the same university. She got her BSc in Physics with Major in Astronomy in 2004 and a MSc in Computational Physics in 2007. Since the April of 2008 she is a PhD candidate at the Physics Department of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, working on her thesis "The Antikythera Mechanism: Astronomy and Technology in Ancient Greece".

Experience - Research Programs:
1995 – 1998: Participation in the excavations of Karabournaki and the Agora of Pella.
1/12/2003 – 31/12/2004: Labour agreement with the General Secretariat for Research and Τechnology during the program: “Identification of late-Byzantine and post-Byzantine wall paintings’ materials and technology in Albania: The mutual influence between Albanian and Greek iconographers.”
